Why Amazon restricted your EU listings
Since 13 December 2024, the EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR, Regulation (EU) 2023/988) requires every consumer product sold into the EU to have a responsible economic operator established in the EU. Marketplaces enforce this directly — no valid EU Responsible Person in your compliance details means your offer can be suppressed for EU marketplaces.

The name, postal address and electronic contact of an EU-established Responsible Person for each product you sell to EU customers — entered in your compliance fields and shown on the product or its packaging/documentation.
What happens without it

Does Amazon really require a GPSR Responsible Person?
Yes. For products sold to EU customers, Amazon requires valid details of an EU-established Responsible Person in your compliance information and shown with the product. This implements the GPSR, which applies since 13 December 2024. Offers without valid details can be restricted for EU marketplaces.
My listings were already deactivated. How fast can this be fixed?

I ship FBA to EU warehouses — doesn’t Amazon count as the importer?
No. Using FBA does not make Amazon your importer or your Responsible Person. If no EU-established manufacturer or importer takes responsibility for your product, you as the seller must appoint an EU Authorized Representative — that is the role EU Shield performs.
What exactly goes on my labels and listings?

Is this the same as a GDPR EU representative?
No. The GPSR Responsible Person covers product-safety obligations for physical goods. The GDPR Article 27 representative covers personal-data obligations for your website, app or store. Many sellers need both — each is a separate €490/year service.
